A design cut, a collaboration awarded not once but twice: ledin award-viscom

SEI Laser signed an agreement with the university of Milan called “Politecnico”, the most prestigious university in Italy, to hold a workshop “A Design Cut. Laser technology to add value to the project”, an educational activity in the School of Design. The aim of the workshop was to design and create items of lighting design: illuminating or lighting systems made of PMMA, steel and LEDs, thanks to the creativity of the young designers and the flexibility of laser technology. Some products were considered excellent enough to be given the LEDin Award, a recognition assigned to lighting projects based on LED/ OLED technology by students and young lighting designers. The success of the project was further recognised by the VISCOM 2014 commission, which deemed the same work worthy of a further prize. Elcom, official sponsor of the workshop, provided the LEDs necessary.
